The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Forum on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders hosted a public 3-part webinar series on Innovative Data Science Approaches to Assess Suicide Risk in Individuals, Populations, and Communities: Current Practices, Opportunities, and Risks. The public virtual workshop was sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Mental Health, and Indian Health Services. It included webinars on April 28, May 12, and June 30, 2022.
Dr. Walsh was a panelist for the third webinar which focused on risks, gaps, barriers, and opportunities for action and improvement of AI/ML algorithms used to assess suicide risk. Kacie Kelly, MS, and Jonathan Sherin, MD, PhD, were also panelists.
